“I love that your company is local and family owned! No big company confusion just polite and personal customer service.”
Mariann D., McJunk customer

That’s how we like to work. You show us what has to go, and we find it, carry it out and load it up. Couches, old appliances, yard debris and a garage stacked with boxes all leave the same way, and you never lift a thing. Our trucks hold 20 cubic yards apiece, and we’re fully insured and licensed.

Three simple steps

Pittsboro is a bit of a drive from our Raleigh office, so it helps to bundle the garage, the attic and the shed into one visit. Here’s the whole process:

  1. Send us a look. Text photos to (919) 850-4377, or put up to 5 pictures on our quote form.
  2. Get a price and a date. Want us to see it first? We’ll come out for free, and you’re not on the hook to book. Same day is possible when the schedule allows.
  3. Watch it disappear. We call you 15 to 20 minutes before we arrive, load everything up and haul it off. Then we donate or recycle as much as we can.

We charge by volume, which just means how much truck space your load needs. The bill never goes over the estimate, and if there’s less than we thought, the price comes down.

Estate and downsizing cleanouts

An estate cleanout clears out everything the family isn’t keeping, including the attic, basement, garage and any sheds. We get these calls after a death in the family, a move to assisted living or a parent deciding it’s time to downsize. Executors, realtors and attorneys settling an estate reach out too.

Your only job is to set aside what stays: photos, papers, heirlooms and anything promised to a relative. We take the rest and sort it once it’s loaded. If you live far from Chatham County, you can arrange it all by phone or text. It helps if somebody can meet us at the house, but if not, we’ll make another plan. Our estate and whole-house cleanouts page walks through it.

Private hoarder cleanouts for Pittsboro families

Asking for help with a hoarded home is often the hardest part, so our first call is just a conversation. It might be the person who lives there. It might be a worried son or daughter. Landlords call too, and so do social workers and case managers.

We can go one room at a time, with staging areas where the family decides what to keep, donate or toss. Or we can clear the whole place in one go. Either way, every heavy lift is ours, even when it adds up to hundreds of pounds. We wear protective gear in unsanitary rooms, and we treat every person and every belonging with respect. We stick to hauling, so we leave hazardous waste behind and don’t do deep cleaning. See how our hoarder cleanout service works.

Sheds, garages and yard cleanup

Most of our work is home junk removal, and in Pittsboro that often means the yard and outbuildings too. Pittsboro homeowners call us to take:

  • Everything crammed into a garage, attic, closet or spare room
  • Old sheds, outdoor structures and hot tubs
  • Tree limbs, branches and other yard waste
  • Old tires
  • Appliances, big or small
  • Sofas, mattresses, tables and other furniture
  • Leftover debris from a remodel

Don’t bother dragging anything to the road. We’ll pick it up from the backyard, the driveway or the top floor. The full list is on our home junk removal services page.

Rental turnovers for landlords

Tenants seldom move out and leave a unit bare. When a lease ends, landlords and property managers have us clear what got left: electronics, tables, chairs, couches, box springs, mattresses and a pile of trash bags. We handle apartments, condos, rental houses and foreclosures, and we’re good at getting big pieces down stairs and around tight turns. Book us before the next lease begins and the place will be ready for paint and carpet. Text photos to (919) 850-4377 for a quote, or read about our rental property cleanouts.

Junk hauling services for businesses

For Pittsboro businesses, we haul one closet of clutter or a whole floor of old office furniture. That includes desks and chairs, computers and IT gear, old media, leftover promo items and boxes of old files. Stores, churches, offices, hotels and storage facilities all use our commercial crews. We can work after hours so your day isn’t interrupted. For bigger jobs we look at the space first and email you a written estimate, and once you’ve set up credit with us, we can bill your company. What happens to your stuff

We shoot for at least 80% of every truckload staying out of the landfill. After every pickup, we go through the whole load and send each thing where it’ll do the most good:

  • Old sheets and towels go to two animal shelters, the SPCA and Saving Grace.
  • Usable furniture and home improvement goods go to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
  • Toys for Tots gets toys, and food banks get any food.
  • Step Up Ministries and local teachers get office and school supplies.
  • Anything metal, or anything with a plug or battery, goes to metal recycling.

Only the leftovers, like broken furniture, worn-out couches and food trash, end up at the county landfill. You can see each stop on our where the junk goes list.

Questions folks ask us

How fast can you get out here?

Sometimes the same day, estimates included, if we have an opening. We run Monday to Saturday during the day.

Do I need to haul things out to the road?

No. Leave it all right where it is, whether that’s the attic, the basement or the back of the property. We’ll bring it out.

Can you take an old shed or a hot tub?

Yes. Sheds, outdoor structures and hot tubs can all go. Put them in the photos you send so we can plan for it.

What won’t you pick up?

Hazardous waste, chemicals and biological waste. Ask us and we’ll tell you where those can go. Dried paint is fine, and we’re happy to explain how to dry it out.

Does somebody have to be home?

Having someone there makes it easier. If not, just call and we’ll sort out another plan.

How can I pay?

Cash, personal checks, company checks and all major credit cards.
